Lunar Litter – Iris x Apollo
Born on Thanksgiving day, November 23rd, 2023. These Maine Coon kittens are all in their new homes! From this litter we had 6 beautiful kittens: Atlas, Asterion, Callisto, Phoebe, Selene, and Titan.
Selene remained with us as a future Maine Coon Queen!
Stellar Litter – Nyx x Apollo
Born on Thanksgiving day, November 23rd, 2023. These Maine Coon kittens are all in their new homes! From this litter we had 6 beautiful kittens: Andromeda, Ara, Cassiopeia, Leo, Lyra, and Perseus.
**Perseus and Leo were born with a rare condition called flat-chested kitten syndrome. There is no genetic test for this condition and its cause is not entirely known – had we had any evidence that this condition would develop in any of the kittens, the parents would not have been mated. Just in case it was genetically influenced, this will be Nyx’s first and only litter, and she will get to enjoy an early retirement to a wonderful pet home. Both boys recovered from their condition quickly and fully enough that we were comfortable rehoming them, with reduced prices and a modified and extended health guarantee.
Odyssey Litter – Aphrodite x Apollo
Born on 9/8/2023. These Maine Coon kittens are all in their new homes! From this litter we had 9 beautiful kittens: Achilles, Athena, Calypso, Circe, Helios, Hercules, Hermes, Orion, and Zeus. The purpose of this litter was to remove one copy of a recessive gene from the kittens’ mom, Aphrodite (two copies of recessive genes are needed for them to have any effect, but we wanted to remove this gene quickly regardless), thus this was Queen Aphrodite’s one and only litter, after which she was retired to a life of luxury. Athena, her daughter and our future Queen, has no copies of any “bad” genes.
Athena remained with us as a future Maine Coon Queen!
Solid with ghost pattern: these kittens carry both copies of the recessive solid gene, meaning their color is defined as solid, but every single cat has copies of one of the four main tabby patterns. In most other (solid) cat colors these patterns are typically not visible past the first few weeks of life, if ever. With red cats, the ghost pattern can usually still be seen even when they are adults. Aphrodite, their mom, for example is a Red Solid with Ghost Mackerel Tabby patterning.
