We are very excited to be expecting Champion Queen Kyra’s first litter! We are hoping for some wonderful, future program-quality kittens from this litter.

The color “white” in Maine Coons is dominant and is a masking color. This means that all “white” cats actually have a different color hidden underneath the coat – see our article about Maine Coon Colors! Since Queen Kyra is white, half of her kittens statistically will also be white. However, we aren’t positive what color she carries underneath the white – most likely, she is either a red classic tabby or a brown classic torbie underneath, considering her heritage and genetic panel (A/a, D/d, and her father is a white cat masking red). If she is a red classic underneath, then of course all of the kittens will be reds, red solids, red silvers, and red smokes. However, if she is masking brown classic torbie, we could see a huge variety of colors including black, brown classic tabby, torties, torbies, calicos, reds, etc. Time will tell!
*All kittens from this pairing have a 75% chance to be polydactyl, as both parents are heterozygous Polydactyl and it is a dominant trait.
