Who We Are

Our names are Hazel and Dallas. (Hazel is a nickname, my legal name is “Melanie”) Together, we run a small family cattery located in Utah County, Utah, and our Maine Coons are registered with TICA. As dedicated Utah Maine Coon breeders, we ensure our pets receive the utmost care and love. Alongside our large cat family, we also cherish our three dogs – Anya the Borzoi, Kyro the Australian Shepherd, and our small mixed-breed girl named Luna.

We understand that a genetic panel is just not enough. With a passion for the Maine Coon breed and ethical breeding, we meticulously select breeding pairs to uphold the breed’s standards of health, temperament, and of course, beauty. Our cattery is located in our home where all of our Maine Coons thrive. Located in scenic Utah County, our commitment to ethical breeding practices and utmost care extends to every aspect of raising these remarkable cats. Hazel is one of the four founders of TICA’s Desert Oasis Cat Club, which currently TICA hosts shows 1-2 times a year in Utah. These shows are a great way to meet us in person!

Why We Breed Maine Coons

My fascination with exotic pets began at an early age, from breeding tropical fish to raising various parrot species. Now with a bachelor’s degree in both biology and microbiology, I’ve honed my skills in animal care, which now extends to breeding high-quality Maine Coons. Our journey into Maine Coon breeding was driven by a love for their gentle giant nature and majestic appearance.

A few years ago, Dallas and I settled into our own home and expanded our furry family, obtainining our current three dogs – Anya (borzoi), Kyro (australian shepherd), and Luna (mixed breed). Seeking a solution to a newfound mice problem in our home led us to research cat breeds, and we ultimately landed on Maine Coons.

After extensive research, planning, and logistics, we welcomed our very first Maine Coon girl, Aphrodite, into our home. She quickly became part of our family, showcasing the breed’s charm and affectionate nature. From there we carefully selected four other cats to begin our program – Apollo, Persephone, Iris, and Nyx.
